Rover

Today for Science we were to write down some facts about the recent rover launch and then create a google doc and turn those facts into paragraphs. This would then be turned into a piece of explanation writing. This took a lot of reading and information gathering.

Here is my writing....

Do you want to go to Mars ? A lot of people would probably say yes but do you know much about it ?...Here's some information about the recently launched rover Perseverance.

The rover is called Perseverance this happened because of a school competition that had 28,000 entries and the one that was pulled out was Perseverance.  The school that the name came from is Lake Braddock Secondary School which is in Virginia. The name of the student that came up with this name is Alexander Mather.

The rover launched on July the 30th and is meant to arrive on Mars on February 18th, 2021. Its landing in a Jezero Crater.

The rover's main reason for going to Mars was to find any sign of ancient life. It is also collecting samples of the ground and rock for people to collect on later Mars missions. They hope this is successful because this could help with future Mars missions. By finding ancient life, they could find how that life survived on the planet. They could find if people could live on Mars.

The rover is designed to understand Mars meaning it could help people on Earth figure out more about Mars. It will test new technology and see if it is successful, it could benefit future generations and the exploration of Mars. This could seriously help and benefit us because we could find out about the world’s surrounding us.
