Te Tiriti O Waitangi

WALT : identify the significance and importnace of Te Tiriti O Waitangi to Aotearoa New Zealand.

On February the 6th, we celebrate Waitangi day . This used to be called New Zealand day which shows how important it is to New Zealanders.

I created a D.L.O that shows why we New Zealanders celebrate Waitangi Day and the importance of the Treaty. My D.L.O also includes the Treaty of Waitangi in Te reo Māori.

  1. Aloha Shelby, It's me Zipporah,

I really like the way you have presented this slideshow really nice and interesting. You have told me lots of things that I didn't really know and it informed me a lot. The 3 Principles, You have told me more facts about them.

Maybe next time you could add more info like, What the treaty is like in 2019 and What has changed about the treaty?

Keep your good work up! You have done amazing in your D.L.O. Good Effort Shelby!

  3. Hello Shelby! My name is Mia and I am a year 7 from Yaldhurst Model School. I love the information that you have added in, it's very descriptive.

As Maddie said our class were doing things about the Te tiriti o Waitangi and the start of the year. I remember that we had to record the differences on the maori version and the english version.

To improve your post, I would love to see lot's more color an pictures to your slide. How long did it take you to gather the information?

    Great job!
    Mia
