Science - The Martian Recount

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post, for the past three lessons of science we have been watching a movie called "The Martian".

Before we started to watch the movie we had to predict what was going to happen based off of the movie cover, I predicted that there would be a man who travels to mars and gets stuck there because of a storm, surprisingly this prediction did come true.

10 minutes into the movie the teacher paused it and we wrote in our books the characters, the setting and three of the details. Once we had wrote down those three things we continued watching the movie and found out that his team had to leave him in the storm. He ended up being stranded on Mars and used the necessities he had left to survive.

He grabbed his poop and made fertiliser out of it and planted potatoes to make more potatoes and it was successful. NASA thought that he was dead but soon found out that he was alive after multiple attempts they found a way to communicate with each other.

He found a way that might help with him getting home he had to travel 150km but to save fuel he had to turn heating off but doing that would make him freeze to death so he picked up a nuclear bomb and put it in the rover because it was radiating heat. This plan was unsuccessful.

They tried a couple of times to get more food to him because he was running out and the first one was  unsuccessful  the second time they tried another plan that would get him home and get him food and it was successful.

In the end he managed to get home and no one got hurt in the process and he ended up teaching young students about mars and how to survive.
