Healthy Lifestyles

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be talking about the phrase "We can control our lifestyle, living a healthy lifestyle is a choice", and I will be sharing my understanding of what this means.

I think this means that we can control what we eat and how much we drink its your choice. It means that its up to you to live healthy, No one else can control what you do if you don't get enough exercise its up to you to start getting it e.g going on runs, joining a sports club etc. I have been doing dancing since I was little and it helps me to keep fit because of all the training's and hard work I put into it. Another thing I do to ensure I live a healthy life style is eating healthy and making sure I get enough sleep each night so I have energy for the next day.

Constellations

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome to another blog post. For today's blog post we had to pin the constellations we made and then wrap string around the constellations. My second constellation wouldn't keep the pins and string down so I only got to do the first one which was phoenix.

Facts About the Gold Mining

Today for Reading we were to create a D.L.O sharing 4 facts about two different sides of gold mining. I chose to create a slideshow. We also read a poem and had to write a paragraph about what it was about.

Here is my D.L.O about the gold mining....

Here is my paragraph..
The poem was saying that the person kept on searching for gold and when they found it they looked after it and made sure not to lose it. The part were they said "sometimes I am lucky and meet its gaze" they meant sometime they are lucky enough to actually find it. Another thing I noticed from the poem was that they wanted to find the gold so that they could continue on with their future and that no one told him were it was he just kept on trying to find it. I think they felt this way because they just wanted to start their future and needed money to do that. I think that the authors purpose of writing it is to show their understanding of why people were into gold mining.

Rover

Today for Science we were to write down some facts about the recent rover launch and then create a google doc and turn those facts into paragraphs. This would then be turned into a piece of explanation writing. This took a lot of reading and information gathering.

Here is my writing....

Do you want to go to Mars ? A lot of people would probably say yes but do you know much about it ?...Here's some information about the recently launched rover Perseverance.

The rover is called Perseverance this happened because of a school competition that had 28,000 entries and the one that was pulled out was Perseverance.  The school that the name came from is Lake Braddock Secondary School which is in Virginia. The name of the student that came up with this name is Alexander Mather.

The rover launched on July the 30th and is meant to arrive on Mars on February 18th, 2021. Its landing in a Jezero Crater.

The rover's main reason for going to Mars was to find any sign of ancient life. It is also collecting samples of the ground and rock for people to collect on later Mars missions. They hope this is successful because this could help with future Mars missions. By finding ancient life, they could find how that life survived on the planet. They could find if people could live on Mars.

The rover is designed to understand Mars meaning it could help people on Earth figure out more about Mars. It will test new technology and see if it is successful, it could benefit future generations and the exploration of Mars. This could seriously help and benefit us because we could find out about the world’s surrounding us.

I hope you learnt something from this piece of writing.

200 Word Challenge

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's task the class was given a challenge to write a 200 word story based off of a piece of music. You didn't have to do exactly 200 you could stick with 100 or do a bit more than that.

Here is my piece of writing....

I just wasn’t feeling it that day. The graceful moves and the calming music. I just wanted everything to go away. All I knew is that I didn’t want to fall back into my old habits. I was wondering what would happen if I did, would I seriously be able to go back into my grunge dark phase or not ? But of course once again I was on the tip of my toe spinning in circles feeling dizzy and sick, I walked behind the studio feeling the cool breeze hit my face closing my eyes listening to the birds and the trees and the people. I walked back into the studio and started all over again bringing the bird sounds and people into the song and I started to enjoy it feeling the air swish around me as I danced then my choreographer came in and watched me and just stayed silent until I was finished. Once I was done she clapped and gave me a hug and then we talked about how that was the first day in ages that I was happy and enjoying what I was doing. I went home and showered then slipped under my sheets.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post.

100 Word Challenge

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be writing a 100 word story based on a photo my teacher gave me.

I was walking through the forest snow crunching under every footstep. The cold winter wind was sending shivers through my body. I walked through an archway and saw three snowmen gathered round a table the first thought running through my head being what the heck. They turned to greet me, not that I wanted them to. The largest one stood up and walked to me. I started slowly walking backwards. The smallest one slowly followed the large one, and then the other one did the same. I became weak in the knees and fell down. My heart was beating, thumping….

A snowman family: three snowmen sitting around a table. What a ...

I hope you liked the story I created.

Getting Enough Sleep

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be talking about the amount of sleep that you need as a teenager. So for this task we first had to read an article about sleep and then have to answer questions from a slide.

We need roughly 8-10 hours of sleep each night if you aren't getting this much sleep it can change your behavior. I get up at 7:00 am this gives me around an hour to get ready. I go to bed at 9 - 9:30 pm . This gives me around 9 to 10 hours of sleep each night.

In order to have a good quality sleep you should make sure you are off any electronic devices an hour before bed in this time you could read a book or write a story. Another thing you could do is not drink drink's with caffeine. A couple more things you could do is one be active during the day as this drains your energy and you wont be energized before bed.

I think that having a good night sleep has multiple affects on you for instance you'd have more energy to put into school work and after school activities and you wouldn't be tired and overall be positive because you have the energy to be.

The next task we had to do was create a chart of what we do in a week and see if its balanced and is sensible.

Here is a photo of my chart...
