SEXXY Paragraphs

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be sharing the work that I have been doing in English. In English, we watched the film Hunt For The Wilderpeople and we are going to be writing an essay about it. We had to practise using Sexxy Paragraphs and had to create a google doc and use a part of the conflict from the film. Before we created the Sexxy Paragraph we had to plan it out on a slideshow that Miss Birtch had prepared for us.

Here is my work...

Sexxy Paragraph.

In the film, Hunt For The Wilderpeople Ricky and Paula ( The female police officer ) have a very

complicated relationship. The conflict begins when Ricky runs away and Paula finds his “dead body”.

Paula tries to connect with Ricky when she finds him again after his run away but fails to as Ricky

continues running away. This shows us that Ricky still does not want to connect with Paula. The conflict

still continues near the end of the movie when Ricky takes Crumpy the car for a drive after Paula finds

his whereabouts. In conclusion by the end of the film, Paula and Ricky’s relationship is still complicated.

Cultural Kete

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be sharing with you what I have been doing for Wananga.  So for Wananga, we have been learning about cultures and we had to make a splat page sharing with you certain words that relate to culture. I decided to use a google drawing to share the definitions of the words.

Here is my splat page......

Heart Dissection

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be sharing with you what I did in Biology. So in Biology, we were to get into groups of three or get into pairs. In my group, we had Tasharn, Nici, and me. The aim of this activity was to educate ourselves on how a heart works. We are doing this because it is important to know how things like this work.

We started off by getting newspaper and putting it over the tables so no juices would get onto the table. We then got given a scalpel, scissors, tweezers, and a metal tray. Our teacher Miss Abernethy gave each group a sheep heart. The first thing that I noticed about the heart was that there was fat around it this was to protect it. We put gloves on and each chose a tool to use, but within the lesson did switch a few times. We first cut the left side and then the right and then inspected and looked at what was inside. We then cut the septum ( the part that separates the left from the right side ). After we had done that we ended up cutting the heart completely in half. For each step of cutting the heart, we felt around to see what each part would feel like and we would look at it and see the different parts of the heart that our teacher had recently been talking about.

Something that I learned was the different parts of the heart for example the septum which separates the left from the right side. Another part of the heart is the right and left side ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the oxygen through the pulmonary artery, and the left ventricle pumps the oxygen through the aortic valve out to the rest of the body.

I personally enjoyed doing the dissection because it was easier to remember which each part of the heart does what by seeing it.

This image shows the heart when it had completely been cut in half. This shows inside of the heart.

This image also shows the heart completely in half but from the top side.

100 Word Challenge

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blog post I will be sharing with you my work today. So for today's work, I had to create a 100 Word Story based off of a visual prompt that Miss Birtch gave the class.

Here is the visual prompt.......

Here is my 100 Word Challenge.....

I was just finishing up in the garden when I spotted a gnome that I had never seen before.

It was wearing green clothing and was resting on a four-leaf clover, it was tucked up and had its eyes

closed.  I slowly walked up to it and picked it up, the gnome just stayed resting I then moved it to be

next to a moss-covered mini wooden seat and it looked perfect. Then I grabbed my hose and watered

the plants surrounding the gnome and the little wooden seat. E
