100 Word Challenge

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. Today I will be writing a story only using 100 words and a prompt that was given by Miss Birtch we had two options for the prompt.

This was the prompt given...

Everything was gone my family, friends, and now I might be...

I opened my eyes only to see a white room I heard the scurrying of feet, the crying of families. I couldn't believe I was still here and I didn't want to be, everything I had done had gone to waste, I was exhausted and it meant nothing, and worst of all I was the only one left, and I was stuck, no moves left to use. I was once again alone and there was no one to blame but myself......

STEAM Challange

Kia ora fellow readers welcome back to another blog post.

Today in wananga we were introduced to something called stem or steam. It stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Maths. Today we were given scissors and paper and we had to try and design something that the whole team could fit through only using the equipment given. In my team, there was Hayley, Leo, and me. The first time we attempted at making the design we failed as we made the design too small. The second time we succeeded.

I believe that if the paper was bigger we would have made the design more successful and if it was smaller we would have struggled even more. I think that if we had cut the paper not as deep as we did we would not have succeeded. We could have cut the paper closer together because they were quite far apart.

Science

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. Today I will be telling you about Evaporating, condensing, and distillation.

What is Evaporation?

Evaporation is when a liquid turns into gas. This happens when liquid is heated.

What is Condensation?

It's the opposite of evaporation so the gas cools down and becomes a liquid.

What is Distillation?

Seperate a solution using evaporation and condensing.

Experiment.

Aim: Use distillation to separate out the dissolved sugars in coke, coke zero/diet, from the liquid.

Hypothesis: I think the sugar will separate from the normal coke and it will hold the most sugar. At the end of the experiment, I don't think any of the cokes will look any different.

Novel study

Kia Ora fellow readers and welcome back to another blog post. For today's blogpost, I will be talking about the book I'm reading for my novel study. The book's name is I am malala.

I think that this book will be about a girl and her experience being a part of her culture. I have not heard of Malala Yousafzai before but I am looking forward to finding out about her. I think that the whole story sounds interesting.

I am wondering what happens in the story though meaning what happens before and after she is shot and I'm also wondering why she was shot and how it affected her.
